Our History
L&K, originally registered in 1997 under the name Lilan & Koech Advocates, underwent conversion into a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) in 2011. Since its inception, the firm has steadily earned recognition as a prominent legal entity, attributed to its expanding clientele comprising both individuals and corporations. Due to the diverse and extensive interests of its clients, L&K has acquired considerable expertise and experience across a wide range of legal practice areas.
The office of the firm is situated at 5th Avenue Office Suites, 2nd Floor, Suite No. 9, 5th Ngong Avenue, Nairobi. It is strategically located in Upper Hill, the financial and commercial hub of the City.
L&K is composed of a dynamic team, consisting of three partners – Paul Lilan, Philemon Koech Busienei, and Sylvia Njeri Kihara, along with a legal consultant, two associate advocates, and research assistants. Together, they create a formidable group, each with specialized expertise covering a wide range of practice areas. The firm is dedicated to investing in the development of young graduate lawyers, offering annual pupillage opportunities to train and nurture their skills. To complete its profile, L&K also includes a Finance and Administration Manager, a Client Service Executive, as well as Logistics and Records officers.
